Pragmatic Play Casinos: One Game, Two Published Prices

Home » Pragmatic Play Casinos: One Game, Two Published Prices

Pragmatic Play is in almost every lobby, and the same Pragmatic game can cost you two different amounts in two of them. The studio builds more than one version of several of its hits, and the lobby does not tell you which one it bought.

That is not a rumor. It is in the studio’s own published returns, and I have put the numbers side by side further down this page.

Eight of the slots reviewed on this site are Pragmatic titles, so I can price them against each other rather than describe them. I can also tell you which of the casinos reviewed here carry the studio, and what each of those casinos scored.

This page is the provider read I wanted and could not find: what Pragmatic publishes, what it leaves out, and what the difference costs per hour.

What Pragmatic Play Publishes About Itself

Start with the company, because the paperwork is the part you can check. Pragmatic Play runs from Gibraltar under chief executive Julian Jarvis. It states that it is certified or licensed in over thirty jurisdictions, that it is regulated by the UK Gambling Commission, and that it holds a Class II licence from Romania’s Oficiul Național pentru Jocuri de Noroc.

For testing it names Gaming Laboratories International, Quinel and Gaming Associates. Those are the laboratories that sign off a game’s random number generator and its stated return, and naming them is more than many studios do.

Its own product menu lists slots, live casino, Drops & Wins, jackpots, crash games, arcade and other RNG titles. That spread matters when you pick a casino, because an operator can carry the slots without carrying the live tables.

Here is what the same page does not say. There is no game count. There is no release rate. There is no founding year, only a copyright line that starts in 2015. A studio that lists its laboratories but not its catalog size is telling you which numbers it considers yours to have.

The Same Pragmatic Game Can Carry More Than One Price

This is the finding that made me write the page. Across the eight Pragmatic slots reviewed here, the published return is a single clean figure on three of them and something messier on the rest.

Big Bass Splash is published at 96.71 percent and at 95.67 percent. Two builds, two prices, one game tile. Sweet Bonanza is published as a range rather than a number. Sweet Bonanza Xmas is the extreme case, with six figures spread across three ranges and nothing saying which range a given lobby serves.

Gates of Olympus, Gates of Olympus 1000 and Sugar Rush are the clean ones. One figure, 96.50 percent, and no ambiguity.

GameMy scorePublished returnIs it one number?
Big Bass Bonanza8 / 1096.71 percentYes, one figure
Gates of Olympus6 / 1096.50 percentYes, one figure
Gates of Olympus 10006 / 1096.50 percentYes, one figure
Sugar Rush6 / 1096.50 percentYes, one figure
Sweet Bonanza 10006 / 1096.53 percent, with 96.49 also publishedTwo figures

Sweet Bonanza6 / 10A range, 96.49 to 96.60 percentA range, not a number
Sweet Bonanza Xmas4 / 1096.49 to 96.60, 96.48 to 96.51, and 95.45 to 95.50 percentSix figures, three ranges

Every figure here comes from the individual review on this site, where it was checked against the studio’s own published material at the time of writing. The scores are mine and the method behind them is published in full.

Read the last row again. The gap between the top and the bottom of Sweet Bonanza Xmas is more than a point of return, on a game that looks identical in every lobby that carries it.

What an Hour of Pragmatic Play Actually Costs

A percentage is easy to shrug at. Turn it into money and the choice gets sharper.

I use the same model on every slot reviewed here. Fifty cents a spin, six hundred spins an hour, which is a steady pace with no turbo. That is three hundred euros staked in an hour. The house edge is whatever the published return leaves behind, and it applies to the turnover rather than to your deposit.

GameReturn usedEdgeCost of one hour at €0.50 a spin
Big Bass Bonanza96.71 percent3.29 percent€9.87
Big Bass Splash, top build96.71 percent3.29 percent€9.87
Sweet Bonanza, top of range96.60 percent3.40 percent€10.20
Sweet Bonanza 100096.53 percent3.47 percent€10.41
Gates of Olympus, Gates of Olympus 1000, Sugar Rush96.50 percent3.50 percent€10.50
Big Bass Splash, reduced build95.67 percent4.33 percent€12.99
Sweet Bonanza Xmas, bottom of the lowest range95.45 percent4.55 percent€13.65

Each row is one multiplication: three hundred euros of turnover times the edge the published return leaves. The returns come from the individual reviews on this site, the arithmetic is mine, and you can redo any row in your head.

The spread is the point. The cheapest Pragmatic hour I can price here is €9.87 and the dearest is €13.65. That is a difference of €3.78 an hour for games that sit in the same lobby, under the same studio logo, with the same reels and the same bonus.

Inside one single title it is nearly as wide. Sweet Bonanza Xmas runs from €10.20 to €13.65 an hour depending on which build the operator bought, and that is €3.45 an hour decided by somebody you will never speak to.

Over a hundred hours, which is a couple of evenings a week for a year, that single decision is worth three hundred and forty five euros.

How to Check Which Pragmatic Build You Are Playing

You can find out before you deposit, and it takes about a minute. The number lives inside the game, not on the tile.

StepWhat you are doing
1Open the game in demo mode, before any deposit decision
2Open the information panel, usually behind an “i” button or the menu
3Find the line that states the return to player, usually at the top of the rules
4Write down the exact figure, including the decimals
5Repeat at a second casino and compare the same two figures

Step five is the one everybody skips, and it is the only step that produces a decision. A single figure on its own tells you nothing, because there is no advertised standard to judge it against.

If the game will not show you a return at all, that is your answer about the operator rather than about the studio. Pragmatic builds the panel. The lobby decides whether you can reach it.

Pragmatic Play Next to a Studio That Labels Its Builds

It would be unfair to treat multiple builds as a Pragmatic invention. The practice is normal across the industry. What differs is how honestly a studio signs them.

Nolimit City publishes three returns for Fire in the Hole xBomb and labels two of them outright, DX1 at 94.11 percent and DX3 at 90.02 percent against a full 96.06 percent. It also publishes the hit frequency, the free spins frequency and the odds of hitting the maximum win. That is the most complete disclosure of any slot reviewed on this site, and it earned the only perfect mark I have given for volatility honesty.

Hacksaw Gaming sits at the other end. Its page for Wanted Dead or a Wild lists four returns in one line with no label at all, which is why that review scored four out of ten.

Pragmatic lands between the two, and closer to Hacksaw than it should be. The figures are published, which is more than some studios manage. They are simply not labelled, so the published honesty does you no good at the moment you choose a lobby.

Which Casinos Reviewed Here Carry Pragmatic Play

Carrying the studio is the easy part. Twenty eight of the casinos reviewed on this site do it, which tells you how little the logo narrows your choice.

What narrows it is the score next to the name. Those marks come from licence, bonus terms, withdrawal ceilings and support, and the method behind them is published in full. A seven and a four both give you Sweet Bonanza. Only one of them gives you a clean way out with the money.

Scores are out of ten and come from the full review behind each name. They rate the operator, not the studio. Pragmatic builds the same game for all of them.

One eight, seven sevens, and a long tail below. If the studio is your reason for choosing a casino, start at the top of that table rather than at the first banner you see.

How I Checked These Numbers

The company facts come from Pragmatic Play’s own about page, read on 23 October 2026. The licence claim, the thirty jurisdictions, the laboratories and the product list are all taken from there, and I have not added anything the studio does not say about itself.

Every return in the tables above comes from the individual game review on this site, where it was checked against the studio’s published material at the time that review was written. Each review carries the date of its last check.

The hourly costs are my own arithmetic and nothing more than one multiplication each. Three hundred euros of turnover, which is fifty cents a spin at six hundred spins an hour, multiplied by the edge the published return leaves behind. If you prefer a different stake, scale the figure.

The list of casinos carrying Pragmatic is taken from the software data on each review, and the scores from the reviews themselves. If a number here stops holding, write to me and I will correct it and date the change.

Where to Play Pragmatic Play Games for Real Money

The studio is fixed. The operator is the only thing you actually choose, and it decides your withdrawal ceiling, your bonus terms and whether you can read a pay table before you stake. Each name below has a full review behind it with all four marks written out.

I came to this from finance, where nobody asks whether an instrument feels lucky. They ask what it costs to hold and for how long. A studio that sells two prices for one product under one name is a familiar shape to me, and it is worth naming plainly.

I am responsible for everything published here. The company facts come from Pragmatic Play’s own about page, read on 23 October 2026. The returns come from the individual reviews on this site, each of which carries the date it was last checked. The euro figures are my arithmetic and every one is a single multiplication. If one stops holding, write to me and I will correct it and date the change.

18+. Gambling can be addictive. Nothing on this page makes a Pragmatic slot cheap, because even the best build on it keeps 3.29 percent of everything staked and the worst keeps 4.55. What the page can do is stop you paying the higher of two prices for the same reels, and that check costs a minute and nothing else. Decide the stake and the number of spins before you open the lobby, and treat a withdrawal as the end of the session rather than an interruption of it.
