Relax Gaming publishes the odds of its own bonus round, and those odds say the cheapest way into this game is to buy it. Waiting for the free spins costs about 46 euros of turnover at the minimum stake. Buying them costs 10. I score it 5 out of 10.
This is a five reel, four row slot with 40 paylines, released on 24 September 2026, and it is the first game on this site where I could score all four of my criteria. That is not a compliment about the design. It is because the studio printed the numbers the other six studios I have reviewed kept to themselves.
Below is every buy price converted into euros, the arithmetic on buying against waiting, and the one thing the published odds do not cover. Start with the section on the feature price, because it changes how you would play this game if you played it at all.
This is the most complete specification table I have been able to build for any slot on this site, and almost none of it required guessing.
| What it is | The figure |
|---|---|
| Return to player | 96.1% at the standard setting, with 94, 92 and 90 percent versions also shipped |
| Return when you buy the bonus | 96.5%, which is higher than the base game |
| Studio and date | Relax Gaming, released 24 September 2026 |
| Grid | Five reels, four rows, 40 paylines paying from the left |
| Volatility | Very high, rated 10 out of 10 by the studio scale |
| Hit frequency | 19.57% in Standard mode and 19.36% in Ultra |
| Free spins frequency | One trigger in 463.56 spins |
| Super free spins frequency | One trigger in 10,290.53 spins |
| Maximum win | 50,000x in Standard mode and 100,000x in Ultra |
| Stake range | From 10p, up to 20 in Standard and 10 in Ultra outside the UK |
| Bonus buys | Seven options, from 1.5x to 2,000x your stake |
| Odds of the maximum win | Not published |
How to read this. Compare this with the Thunderstruck II table on this site, where three of these rows read not published and the rest contradict each other. One line in this table is missing. On that game, nine were.
Casinos on this site are scored on four published criteria and so are games, on four of their own. Each is marked out of ten and the average is rounded to a whole number, with a half rounding up. This is the first game where all four could be scored. The bands are published in my scoring method.
| Criterion | Score | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Return to player | 7 / 10 | 96.1 percent sits on the ninety six line the industry used as its default. The three lower versions are disclosed, which is why they are not punished here |
| Cost of reaching the feature | 4 / 10 | The cheapest genuine entry is 100 times your stake, which bands at six, and the ladder runs to 2,000x, which takes two points off |
| Volatility honesty | 6 / 10 | Hit frequency and feature frequency are both published, for both modes, and every buy carries its own return figure. The odds of the maximum win are still missing |
| Session survivability | 4 / 10 | One trigger in 463.56 spins bands at three, and the ten cent minimum adds a point back |
| Overall | 5 / 10 | Average of four, rounded |
How to read this. Seven, four, six and four make twenty one. Divided by four that is 5.25, which publishes as five. Six previous games on this site were averaged over three criteria because a number was missing. This one was not.
Five is a middling score for a game that behaves well on the two things I usually complain about. The return is fair and the disclosure is the best I have seen. What drags it down is access, and that is a design choice rather than an accident.
A hundred times your stake to enter the feature, and a feature that otherwise arrives once in 463 spins, is a game built around the buy menu. The studio has been honest enough to publish the numbers that show it, and the numbers show a game that is expensive to play the way its own base game invites you to.
Relax Gaming publishes how often each bonus arrives, which almost no studio does. Those two numbers turn a vague question into arithmetic.
The free spins land once in 463.56 spins. At the ten cent minimum that is 46.36 euros of turnover before the feature arrives on average. The game will sell you the same feature for 100 times your stake, which is 10 euros at that same stake.
| Feature | How often it lands | Turnover to wait for it at 0.10 | Price to buy it at 0.10 | Which is cheaper |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free Spins | 1 in 463.56 spins | 46.36 | 10.00 | Buying, by 4.6 times |
| Super Free Spins | 1 in 10,290.53 spins | 1,029.05 | 50.00 | Buying, by 20.6 times |
How to read this. This is not a trick of presentation. Waiting and buying do not have the same expected value, because waiting pays you something along the way through the base game. But as a question of how much money passes through the machine before you see the feature you came for, buying is several times cheaper, and the studio published the numbers that prove it.
There is a second half to this, and it is the part I did not expect. The bonus buys run at 96.5 percent while the base game runs at 96.1. Buying the feature does not just reach it faster, it returns more per euro staked. Four tenths of a percentage point is small, but it points the same direction as the arithmetic above.
So the honest reading of this game is uncomfortable for the way slots are usually sold. The base game is the expensive route to the thing the base game exists to deliver. If you are going to play Money Train 5, the published numbers say buy.
I will say the obvious counterweight too. Buying costs 100 times your stake in one click, and a player who buys five times in a session has staked 500 times the stake with nothing between purchases to slow them down. Cheaper per feature is not the same as cheaper per hour.
The game runs in two modes and you pick one before you spin. The choice is not cosmetic, and the studio publishes what changes.
| What changes | Standard | Ultra |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum win | 50,000x | 100,000x |
| Hit frequency | 19.57% | 19.36% |
| Maximum stake outside the UK | 20 | 10 |
| Buy options | Bonus, Super Bonus | Ultra Bonus, Ultra Super Bonus |
How to read this. Ultra doubles the ceiling and takes a little off how often anything lands, which is the trade you would expect. What it also does is halve your maximum stake, so the bigger ceiling is reached from a smaller bet. Read the two together rather than chasing the 100,000x on its own.
Seven options sit in the menu and they are not all purchases. Two of them change your odds on the next spin, four of them put you straight into a feature, and one is the Ultra version of the cheapest booster.
| Option | Price | At 0.10 a spin | At 1.00 a spin | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Enhanced Spins | 1.5x | 0.15 | 1.50 | Raises the chance of a trigger. Not a purchase |
| Bonus Reels | 10x | 1.00 | 10.00 | Removes paying symbols to raise the trigger chance |
| Ultra Bonus Reels | 25x | 2.50 | 25.00 | The same, aimed at the Ultra features |
| Bonus | 100x | 10.00 | 100.00 | Straight into Free Spins |
| Ultra Bonus | 250x | 25.00 | 250.00 | Straight into Ultra Free Spins |
| Super Bonus | 500x | 50.00 | 500.00 | Straight into Super Free Spins |
| Ultra Super Bonus | 2,000x | 200.00 | 2,000.00 | The top of the ladder |
How to read this. Look down the 0.10 column before you look at the 1.00 one. At the minimum stake every option on this menu is affordable, which is exactly why the menu is dangerous. At a one euro stake the same list runs from one euro fifty to two thousand, and the buttons sit in the same place on the screen.
The four genuine purchases all run at 96.5 percent, which the studio states separately from the base game figure. The two boosters run at the base 96.1. That is an unusual amount of honesty about a buy menu and it is most of the reason this game does not score worse than it does.
At the ten cent minimum, fifty euros buys 500 spins. The published trigger rate says the free spins land once in 463.56, so a fifty euro balance expects to see the feature about once. Once, across an entire session.
| What you want | What it costs at 0.10 | In fifty euro balances | Expected loss on that turnover |
|---|---|---|---|
| One free spins trigger by waiting | 46.36 | Under one | 1.81 |
| One free spins trigger by buying | 10.00 | A fifth of one | 0.35 |
| One super free spins trigger by waiting | 1,029.05 | 20.6 | 40.13 |
| One super free spins trigger by buying | 50.00 | One | 1.75 |
| The Ultra Super Bonus once | 200.00 | Four | 7.00 |
How to read this. The expected loss column uses 96.1 percent for waiting and 96.5 for buying, because the studio publishes the two separately. Staked is not deposited. These are long run expectations and no single session will match them.
The row that should decide how you treat this game is the third one. Reaching the Super Free Spins by spinning takes more than a thousand euros of turnover on average, which is twenty fifty euro balances. Almost nobody playing at ten cents a spin will ever see that feature without paying for it, and the studio is the one telling you so.
I have now scored seven slots on this site and this is the first time I could fill in every row. It is worth laying out exactly what Relax Gaming printed and what the others did not.
| Figure | Money Train 5 | Thunderstruck II | Book of Dead |
|---|---|---|---|
| Return to player | 96.1% | 96.65% | 96.21% |
| Lower RTP versions disclosed | Yes, three of them | None known | Not by the studio |
| Hit frequency | 19.57% | Not published | Not published |
| Feature frequency | 1 in 463.56 | Not published | Not published |
| Buy prices and their own RTP | Seven options, 96.5% | No buys exist | No buys exist |
| Odds of the maximum win | Not published | Not published | Not published |
How to read this. One row is missing here and it is the same row that is missing everywhere. Not one studio I have reviewed publishes the odds of reaching its own advertised ceiling, including this one, which publishes everything else.
This is also the first game where my fourth criterion could be scored at all. Session survivability needs a published feature frequency, and six games in a row did not have one. That single number, one trigger in 463.56 spins, is what makes the score below a complete one rather than an average of three.
Six Money Train titles sit in our library. I have verified figures for this one only, so the table below says what each game is rather than printing returns I have not checked myself.
| Game | What it is | Free demo |
|---|---|---|
| Money Train | The original that started the series and the buy menu with it | Play it free |
| Money Train 2 | The entry that made the series famous, and still the most searched of the six | Play it free |
| Money Train 3 | Expanded the special symbol set that the sequels kept building on | Play it free |
| Money Train 4 | Introduced the mode split that this game carries forward | Play it free |
| Money Train 5 | The one reviewed here, 96.1 percent, seven buy options | Play it free |
| Money Train Origins | A spin off rather than a numbered sequel | Play it free |
How to read this. If you have played an earlier Money Train and are deciding whether to open this one, the thing that has changed most is the price list. Check the buy menu and the return figure inside whichever game you load, because the series has not held either constant.
The game is the same everywhere. The terms wrapped around it are not, and that is where a session quietly gets more expensive. Four things are worth thirty seconds each.
First, the return printed in the game information panel, every time you open the game at a casino you have not used before. Plenty of slots ship in more than one build, and that panel is the only place the figure you are actually playing is shown.
Second, how the game counts toward wagering, and whether buying a feature voids an active bonus. Slots usually count in full, but feature purchases are excluded under most terms and some casinos cancel the bonus outright for one. The wagering terms are where both of those live.
Third, the maximum stake allowed while a bonus is running. It is commonly five euros a spin, and going over it once is enough for a casino to void everything the bonus produced.
Fourth, the cap on what you may withdraw from bonus winnings. A large maximum win means nothing if the terms stop your payout well below it, and that ceiling is printed in the bonus terms rather than in the game.
The return figure on its own tells you nothing about what a session costs. What costs you money is the return multiplied by how much you push across the table, and a slot pushes a great deal. Six hundred spins in an hour is an ordinary pace once autoplay is running.
At 96.1 percent the house keeps 3.9 percent of everything staked. Here is what that is worth at three ordinary stakes, using the same model as my cost per hour table.
| Stake per spin | Wagered in an hour | House edge | Cost of the hour |
|---|---|---|---|
| €0.20 | €120 | 3.9% | €4.68 |
| €0.50 | €300 | 3.9% | €11.70 |
| €1.00 | €600 | 3.9% | €23.40 |
Six hundred spins an hour, the house edge applied to everything wagered in that hour. These are averages over a very long run, not a prediction for one session, and the swings in either direction are far larger than the edge.
The demo runs on a play money balance that resets when you reload, with no account and no deposit. It is worth more than most demos here, because the buy menu is open in demo mode and you can see what 2,000 times your stake actually buys before you ever pay for it.
Twenty one of the 36 casinos I have reviewed record this studio in the supplier list I pulled from their lobby. Five of those reach seven out of ten, the highest score any casino holds on this site.
| Casino | Score | Full review |
|---|---|---|
| Playfina Casino | 7 / 10 | Read the review |
| National Casino | 7 / 10 | Read the review |
| HellSpin Casino | 7 / 10 | Read the review |
| CasinoChan Casino | 7 / 10 | Read the review |
| Asino Casino | 7 / 10 | Read the review |
How to read this. On a game with a buy menu, one clause matters more than usual. Several operators cap what you can withdraw from a session that used a feature purchase, or treat a bought bonus differently from a triggered one. Read the bonus terms before you press 2,000x.
Playfina takes the link below on the tiebreak I use everywhere, highest terms fairness first, then payouts, then bonus value. The other sixteen casinos carrying this studio score between four and six, and the full list shows where each one loses its points.
What is the RTP of Money Train 5?
96.1 percent at the standard setting. Three lower versions are also shipped to casinos, at 94, 92 and 90 percent, and the studio discloses that rather than hiding it. The bonus buys run at a separate 96.5 percent, which is higher than the base game.
How often do the free spins trigger?
Once in 463.56 spins, which is published. At the ten cent minimum that is 46.36 euros of turnover before the feature arrives on average. The Super Free Spins land once in 10,290.53 spins, which is more than a thousand euros of turnover at the same stake.
Is it cheaper to buy the bonus or wait for it?
On the published odds, buying is cheaper by a wide margin. The free spins cost 100 times your stake to buy against 463.56 spins of turnover to wait for, and the Super Free Spins cost 500 times against 10,290 spins. Buying also runs at a higher return, 96.5 against 96.1.
What are all the Money Train 5 buy prices?
Seven options. Enhanced Spins at 1.5x and Bonus Reels at 10x raise your trigger chance rather than buying a feature. Ultra Bonus Reels cost 25x. The four real purchases are Bonus at 100x, Ultra Bonus at 250x, Super Bonus at 500x and Ultra Super Bonus at 2,000x your stake.
What is the difference between Standard and Ultra mode?
Ultra doubles the maximum win from 50,000x to 100,000x and lowers the hit frequency slightly, from 19.57 to 19.36 percent. It also halves your maximum stake outside the UK, from 20 to 10, so the bigger ceiling is reached from a smaller bet.
What is the maximum win on Money Train 5?
50,000 times your stake in Standard mode and 100,000 times in Ultra. Nobody publishes the odds of reaching either figure, which is the one gap left in an otherwise complete specification and the reason this game does not score higher on disclosure.
Can I play Money Train 5 for free?
Yes, on a play money balance with no account and no deposit. The buy menu works in the demo, which makes it more useful than most, because you can see what each of the seven prices actually delivers. Start on our Money Train 5 demo page.
Why does this review score Money Train 5 only 5 out of 10?
Because access drags down two good scores. The return earns seven and the disclosure earns six, but the cheapest way into the feature costs a hundred times your stake and the feature otherwise arrives once in 463 spins, which earn four each. Twenty one divided by four is 5.25, published as five under my scoring method.
Which casinos have Money Train 5?
Twenty one of the 36 casinos I have scored record this studio in the supplier list taken from their lobbies. Five reach seven out of ten: Playfina, National Casino, HellSpin, CasinoChan and Asino. The other sixteen score between four and six.
Is Money Train 5 good for a small balance?
Only if you treat the buy menu as the game. At ten cents a spin a fifty euro balance runs 500 spins and expects to see the free spins about once. The Super Free Spins would take twenty such balances to reach by spinning, so a small balance either buys or never sees the game’s best feature.

I came to this from finance, so a slot review that tells me a game is explosive tells me nothing. What I want is every published number in one place, converted into euros and into spins. On this game I could do that for the first time, because the studio printed the trigger odds instead of leaving them to guesswork.
Every figure here was cross checked against two independent databases on the date below. Where the two disagreed, one of them listed a fourth lower return version that the other did not, I have kept to the three both of them carry. The odds of the maximum win are missing because nobody publishes them. I am responsible for everything on this page. If a number no longer holds, write to me and I will check it.
18+. Gambling can be addictive. The demo linked on this page is played with play money that has no cash value and cannot be withdrawn. Buying a bonus round stakes real money instantly and removes the pause that base game spins provide. Return to player describes millions of spins and predicts nothing about a single session. No slot can be beaten with strategy, and the result of every spin is independent of the one before it.
