The License, and the Regulator That Would Not Load
Asino names its operator in full, which already puts it ahead of several casinos I have reviewed. The footer gives Metlait SRL, a Costa Rican company with registration number 3-102-911867, registered in Cartago. It gives the license too: number 0000064, issued by the Tobique Gaming Commission.
Costa Rica issues no gambling license of any kind, so the Tobique permit is the entire regulatory story here. Tobique is a First Nation in New Brunswick, Canada, and its gaming commission is one of the youngest licensors in the business.
I went to check license 0000064 against the regulator’s own records. The Tobique Gaming Commission website did not load. Error 521, the server refusing the connection. I tried again forty seconds later and got the same screen.
I then looked for a public register of its license holders and found none. What I found instead were agencies selling the license to operators. There is a number in the footer, and on the day I wrote this there was no way for a player to confirm it, and nowhere to send a complaint.
One detail says it better than I can. Asino blocks players from the Canadian province of New Brunswick, which is exactly where the Tobique First Nation sits. The license is issued in the one place the license holder will not serve.
Clause 17 finishes the thought. Every dispute goes to arbitration in Costa Rica, and you waive the right to sue anywhere else. Clause 15.2 adds that nobody may file a complaint on your behalf, which closes the door on the mediation services players normally use. Clause 15.3 makes the casino’s own server logs final in any argument about a game result.

Where these numbers come from. Asino publishes no game count on its own site, and its category pages would not load for me while I was logged out, so I could not count the lobby myself. The 12,000 titles and 120 studios are the figures held in the AskGamblers database, which is independent of the operator. The pending window is the real number. An hour to an e-wallet sounds excellent until you read that approval can take up to 72 hours first, and the money stays playable while you wait. Asino is a big, fast, well-stocked casino sitting on the thinnest regulatory foundation I have come across. Those two facts do not cancel out. They just decide who should be here.
